PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Magnesium oxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula MgO. It is an oxide of magnesium, an ionic compound. It is a white solid at room temperature. Magnesium oxide exists in nature in the form of periclase and is the raw material for magnesium smelting. It is a white fine powder. Odorless. Due to different preparation methods, it is divided into light and heavy. It has strong refractive properties in the visible and near-ultraviolet light range. It is easy to absorb moisture and carbon dioxide when exposed to air and gradually becomes basic magnesium carbonate, which combines with water to form magnesium hydroxide, showing a slightly alkaline reaction. It is slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in dilute acid, and insoluble in alcohol.

Light magnesium oxide is a chemically synthesized product with high content, white color, loose volume, and white amorphous powder.

Heavy magnesium oxide is a mineral burning product, mostly beige.

Heavy magnesium oxide is divided into light-burned magnesium oxide powder and heavy-burned magnesium oxide powder due to different sintering temperatures. Heavy-burned powder is mainly used to make high-temperature resistant materials. Light-burned powder is divided into desulfurization powder and building material powder.

PRODUCT USES

Industrial grade magnesium oxide is an important raw material for the production of other chemical materials. It can be used to make magnesite cement and can also be used in construction projects, such as water treatment and desulfurization.

Food grade magnesium oxide is used as a food additive, color stabilizer, and magnesium supplement for food. It is used as a decolorizer for sugar refining, a pH regulator for ice cream powder, etc. It is used as an anti-caking agent and antacid in wheat flour, milk powder chocolate, cocoa powder, grape powder, sugar powder and other fields. It can also be used in the manufacture of ceramics, enamel, glass, dyes and other fields.
