Compared with agricultural urea, industrial urea features higher purity (normally ≥99%), and strict limits on impurities such as biuret and heavy metals.

PRODUCTION METHOD

Industrial urea is synthesized from ammonia ((boldsymbol{NH_3})) and carbon dioxide ((boldsymbol{CO_2})) under high temperature and high pressure. Common processes include aqueous solution recycling process and stripping process. Impurities are strictly controlled during production to meet industrial standards.

MAIN APPLICATIONS

1. Denitrifying Agent

   Used in SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) and SNCR (Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction) systems of power plants and industrial boilers. Urea generates ammonia via hydrolysis or thermal decomposition, which reacts with nitrogen oxides (NOₓ) in flue gas to form nitrogen and water. It reduces NOₓ emissions and alleviates acid rain and photochemical smog.
2. Raw Material for Synthetic Resins

   For manufacturing urea-formaldehyde resin, melamine resin, polyurethane, widely used in plywood, coatings, plastics, furniture and building materials.
3. Chemical Intermediate

   Raw material for melamine, cyanuric acid, foaming agents and other chemical products.
4. Other Applications

   Pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, AdBlue for vehicle exhaust treatment, softeners and degreasing agents in leather processing.
